This resource consists of two outstanding lessons rolled into one Power Point. Lessons are designed to last for an hour each, however they can be adapted to suit 50 minutes or stretched into double lessons depending on your chosen length of activities and extension tasks. This is designed to support BTEC level 3 HSC students. However, it could also be used to inform individuals about the HSC sector in general. The lesson consists of differentiated learning outcomes based on Bloom's taxonomy, extension tasks, timings, plenaries, homework tasks, case studies and opportunities for revision for unit 1 (human lifespan) as well as unit 2 exam questions and opportunities to develop exam technique. This can be used as an example of how to structure or plan an outstanding lesson. Enjoy!

Unit 19 Concepts of Nutritional Health - The Eat well plate Level 3 NQF HSC

(1)
One outstanding lesson that could easily be stretched as a double lesson (2 hours) consisting of; differentiated learning outcomes, starters, plenaries, key terms and assessment question practice in preparation for coursework. The lesson introduces the concepts of nutritional health which prepare students for P1 and Task 1 on the Pearson assignment brief for Unit 19. The lesson also focuses on the eat well plate and therefore can be adapted to suit any subject introducing this topic. The lesson encourages students to research independently in preparation for the coursework research task. The lessons are planned using the Unit 19 Pearson textbook and specification for the new level 3 NQF course, Unit 1 and 2 lessons are also available, Unit 7 will shortly follow. Level 2 lessons will also be uploaded - Unit 2 and Unit 4 lessons are already available.
